Playstation 5 Event (Finally) Announced

Sony came out after a long week of waiting, announcing the next showcase for the Playstation 5. The showcase will be held on Wednesday, September 16th at 1 pm PDT.

There is further information on the Playstation Blog. The showcase will be 40 minutes long and will feature updates on upcoming games. The focus seems to be around the software once again, and especially the first party and exclusive software.

I’ll post my full predictions on Tuesday, but I’m sure it’ll be launch window focused. Which means we’re most likely getting price, date, and launch titles. The games we’re sure to see once again are Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls which I suspect are both launch titles.

However, I do believe we’ll get a lot of updates from the games shown at the last showcase in June. For example, Sackboy: A Big Adventure that I’ve heard is aiming for launch too. It’s worth bringing up that Sackboy originally was a PS4 title, that got pushed to the PS5, we’ll probably see it early on.

Once again, I’ll have my full predictions up on Tuesday, but I’ll leave you with a last one. Final Fantasy XVI.
In the meantime, I’m very excited to finally see the showcase. I might get the channel up and running for the first official Marsipan Games reaction, but I can’t make any promises. Until then, let’s prepare for a good showcase, pre-orders, and the inevitable disappointment when All-Stars 2 isn’t announced.
